There is Peace In Christ

Inspired by the Song, There is Peace In Christ, by McKenna Hixson. This poem helps describe the Jesus I know and the Jesus that shows up in our stories.

In Jesus is Peace

History is filled with examples of the Peace Jesus brought,

It is finished He declared, His bloodshed, the battle He fought.

He comforts troubled hearts, He calms our stormy seas,

He heals the broken and makes darkness to flee.

He lifts up the weary, the hungry, and cold

The adversary cast out with power so bold.

In our lives He walks, His great love to share,

We too can witness, His peace we feel and declare.

The more we listen, the more we can learn,

He's alive in our life, His presence and love we discern.

He walks in our story, no matter our place,

Gives hope, power, and shelter, support, love, and His grace.

Do not stop, do not quit; stand fast in His place,

Look around for His influence, His hold – please embrace.

In the world there is chaos, darkness, and cold unfurled,

But lift up your eyes, be hopeful – He overcame the world.

He delivers, He strengthens, whatever binds is released,

For Christ lives, Christ loves, Christ conquers. In Jesus is Peace.
