Embracing Brokenness: How Jesus Christ and Our Heavenly Parents Heal Us

Updated: Mar 20

Embrace Brokenness - In. our brokenness, we are loved, healed, and made stronger, more beautiful, and more capable.
In our brokenness, we are loved, healed, and made stronger, more beautiful, and more capable.

In life, we all face moments of brokenness—whether spiritually, emotionally, or mentally. Life’s challenges can overwhelm us, leaving us feeling fractured and alone. In these moments, two forces vie for our attention, each with vastly different purposes.

Satan's Plan: Keeping Us Broken

Satan, our adversary, seeks to exploit our brokenness. His goal is to keep us bound by shame, fear, and despair. He discourages and isolates us, convincing us that we are unworthy of love or healing. Satan is our adversary, the one who seeks to sabotage our happiness. His tools include:

  • Shame: Making us believe we’re beyond hope, that we are unworthy of love or redemption.

  • Fear: Keeping us paralyzed and afraid to reach out for help.

  • Isolation: Cutting us off from God and others.

Love to Satan is something that must be earned, yet, something we are incapable of receiving. Satan offers no healing. His aim is destruction. Once he has accomplished his goal, he rejects and abandons us, leaving us worse off than before.

Jesus Christ's Healing Power: Turning Brokenness into Strength

In stark contrast, Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Parents approach our brokenness with boundless love and compassion. They love with a love that cannot and will not end – no matter what. They anticipated our struggles and prepared a way for us to heal and grow stronger through Him.

Their love is not conditional. Their love is freely given, unchanging, and eternal—no matter our circumstances. Here’s how they transform brokenness into strength:

  • Healing: Just as broken bones heal stronger, the Savior’s atonement restores us, making us more resilient.

  • Growth: Broken soil allows water to enter the ground. Seeds must break open to grow, and a plant pruned becomes more robust and produces more fruit.

  • Perspective: Heartbreak and trials teach us empathy, resilience, and new perspectives.

  • Rebirth: Life often begins with breaking—a mother’s water breaking before birth or a cocoon breaking to reveal a butterfly. The struggle builds strength.

  • Restorative: A restored car is more valuable than the original condition.

These examples remind us that brokenness is not the end. Through Christ, it is a step toward greater wholeness and divine strength. Our brokenness now healed is beautiful.

Our Heavenly Parents’ Boundless Love

Our Heavenly Parents see us in our brokenness and do not intend to leave us there. They send the ultimate healer, Jesus Christ, to rescue, restore, and strengthen us.

Their love is:

  • Infinite: It has no bounds and is always available. Their love is simply there. It is a fact, always available, and their love never fails – no matter what.

  • Unconditional: Their love is not a result of an action or a reward. It is not earned but given freely.

  • Restorative: They work tirelessly to reclaim and uplift us, no matter where we are.

Even in our messiest, darkness, and most stormy moments, They are with us, offering hope, healing, and transformation. Their love invites us to become better, stronger, and more like Them.

Becoming Whole Through Christ

You may ask, how can I feel healing through Jesus Christ?

When we embrace our Savior’s healing power, when we allow Jesus to come into our lives, we find that our brokenness doesn’t define us. Instead, it refines us. Through Him, we can rise above our struggles and grow into the people we are meant to be. Our challenges do not happen to us, but they happen for us.

God Loves Broken Things – God Loves Broken Me

No matter what you’ve faced, remember this: You are deeply loved. Brokenness is not our final destination—it is the beginning of a beautiful transformation through Jesus Christ. We find hope and healing through Jesus Christ.
