The words abide with me have a duel meaning. We call out, "Be near me Lord Jesus, I need you, I want you, please abide with me. Jesus calls out, "Abide with me, I ask thee to stay, walk with me." This poem reminds me that every plea is heard and that I am not alone. Most importantly, I'm being asked to remain in a relationship with Jesus, He wants me to stay.

Abide with Me
A Child's Plea:
Beneath the shadows where the wild winds howl,
I stumble, I fall, lost, my heart feels afoul.
My trembling voice breaks through the storm raging sea,
Abide with me, Lord, please walk beside me, I plead.
I cannot bear to travel this road alone,
Please stretch forth your hand, make your presence known.
Carry me through, your mercy as my guide,
For I am weak and tired - I need you by my side.
A Saviors Plea:
My child, my child, I hear your despair,
Even in storms, during the darkest of times I am there.
When shadows deepen, my love remains, from bondage your freed,
Reach out your hand, I'm near, Abide with me I plead.
I walk the thorny paths to rescue your heart,
I'll bind your wounds, I'll heal every part.
Abide in my love, stay steadfast and true,
For no storm can break what I offer to you.
The Savior's Promise:
No depth too low, no chasm too vast, no height too high,
My arms outstretched, I call you by name-you are my why.
I cross eternity to find, to rescue, to save each and every soul,
To mend the broken, to comfort, to bless, to make whole.
With infinite mercy, my love will not cease,
I yearn to bless you, to shelter you with comfort and peace.
Through storms, through shadows, I walk with you along the way,
My presence eternal - Abide with me night and day.
What do you do to invite Jesus to Abide with you?
Describe a time where you've taken Jesus up on His invitation to stay and walk with Him?
