Of all the titles of Jesus Christ, my favorite title is Friend.
Jesus Christ is our friend.
Our friendship is a relationship I value, one that I treasure, and hold dear. Our friendship is a relationship I want to continue to grow. Our friendship is something I want others to feel too.
What is a Friend?

A friend is someone who knows you, has mutual affection, and unconditional love. A friend doesn't expect anything in return but wants a relationship. Friendship is a long lasting and focuses on meeting the others’ needs and interests. Friendship is enduring in nature and invokes trust.
A friend provides support and strength during difficult times and celebrates with you with you in periods of success. A friend shows genuine interest in and cares for you. They know you were so familiarly that they understand when you we are doing good and when we are struggling. A friend gets us. Even with, and especially because of our weird quirks.
A true friend speaks from the heart. They are not afraid to tell us how it is, or to correct us. They look at you as you are, where you are, but they also want us to be our best. There's a sense of equality, where the friend seeks to help you be your best self but is there when we struggle or fall short.
Friendship offers a close association, a high level of loyalty. You can trust your friend. A friend is constant. They seek us out. They want to communicate. They want to catch up. When we’ve been gone or out of contact for a while, a friend is someone with whom you can reconnect easily like you’ve never been gone.
A friend is someone who makes it easier to be our best and accepts us. By their influence we are better. A friend is committed to you no matter what. You can feel their empathy, their compassion, and their strength. They are loyal. They trust you. They listen closely and want to engage with you. When a friend is confident in you, your own confidence can grow.
Above all, a friend is someone that when you spend time with them it feels good.
You Are My Friends

Our Heavenly Parents and Jesus Christ are True Friends. “Ye are my friends” (John 15:14, Doctrine and Covenants 73:45).
They pursue a relationship no matter what. They are friends in whom we can depend, Friends in whom we can confide. They're there when we need them the most. They listen and They don't judge. They love us. They sincerely care. No Matter What They love us – each and every one of us, with a love that cannot and will not end.
Jesus, My Friend
You walk beside me, not above,
Not out of reach, but full of love.
You see me plain…there is no need to hide,
And still, You choose to stay…by my side.
You call me “Friend” …what wondrous grace,
To lift me up, to take Your place.
No throne too high, no crown too grand,
To keep You from my trembling hand.
When I feel weak, You lend me might,
You hold me close throughout lonely nights.
You celebrate when life goes right,
And stay when shadows steal the light.
You know my thoughts, my quirks, my fears,
You’ve seen my heart through all the years.
And still, You smile…so full, so free,
As though You’re truly proud of me.
You speak with truth, yet never shame,
You call me gently, by my name.
You meet me where I’m lost and when I’m low,
And help me rise, and learn, and grow.
You don’t give up, You never will,
Your loyal heart is constant still.
Though I may wander, fall, or fade,
You seek me out…Your endless love displayed.
In silence, joy, or weary prayer,
I find You listening…You’re always there.
You don’t demand…I’m not a task.
You simply wait, You simply ask:
“Come talk with Me, come walk again,
Come rest in Me, You’re not condemned.
You are My friend, I call you Mine
Forever loved by My design.”
So here I am, with heart made new,
A soul once cracked, now held by You.
No title greater could You send
Than this: my Savior…and my Friend.
And when you find a great Friend, you can't help but want the world to meet and know them too. Because Their Light, Their Loyalty, and Their Love is something you want others to know. So share your friendship with Christ with someone you know.
